∼What I’m reading∼

Soul Keeping by John Ortberg. This is a re-read for me.  I reading this slowly and mindfully.

John Ortberg was friends with the late Dallas Willard.  One of the quotes that Dallas is known for, “You must ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life.”

Slow living-I’m all about it!  The chapters I read this morning were on our soul, as in what is it? The insight was so helpful! I’ve been mulling it over all day.  It’s where real life is at.

What are you reading? Got any books you want to recommend?

Bible verse I’m meditating on

Psalm 27:14

“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!”

wait–even when nothing seems to be happening, even when we don’t like circumstances we’re in, trusting in God-He knows what’s going on.

  1. I’m not reading much right now…but as I sit and type this, Michael and I are singing “Good Good Father” by Chris Tomlin…Michael is peacefully strumming the guitar, and I am sincerely touched by the phrase, “You are perfect in all of Your ways…” Though we don’t understand it now, we choose to trust Him, and allow the knowledge of His character to bring us peace. I love you Friend…am praying for your family to have joy…and to be comforted in this time. See you when you get back from Oregon!!

    1. Terry,

What a beautiful picture I see in you & Michael worshipping together! Thank you for your friendship & prayers! It means so much! God is good! He is taking care of us.

  2. Maria, that Dallas Willard quote impacted me when I was younger…I think a combination of things led to my writing Not So Fast, but that was a key quote I used.

I’m honored to know you visited my website and read about not comparing. Walk in freedom to be the writer you are at any given moment.
